Saddam's Bloody Good Times Are Over

The fate of Saddam Hussein cannot be equalled to the country that he ruled till April 2003. Although both have been out of power for some time we can say for sure that when ruling power eventually returns from coalition forces to Iraqi people, then at the same time we can definitely say that the former Iraqi leader may say good-bye to his presidency. Your bloody good times are over, Saddam. Your nation chooses to be free from dictated rule.

There is so much information about Hussein’s misdeeds that even one well-grounded charge will be enough for the person that is guilty of deaths of so many. This charge is very well known to ordinary people in the world despite they are Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists or others (forgive me for not naming all). This charge is for Murder. But what is murder nowadays. It’s a violent killing of a person. But does Hussein deserve being killed for the obscene orders that he or his generals gave to keep their country in terror? Some people may say ‘YES’ others may say ‘NO’. As for me I don’t know. Charging Hussein as a political murderer is a right reason and he must pay for the oppression of his own and of neighbouring nations.

These only charges could have been the only charges that can send that evil intriguer to hell. What about execution of 15 party leaders shortly after Saddam seized power in July 16, 1979.

The world is beginning to calm down after outrageous invasion of neighbouring Iran in 1980 sparking an eight-year war that leaves an estimated one million dead. Maybe Iranians will never forget those chemical attacks against Iran that killed about 5,000 people.

1983 brought to the world the evidence of massacre of Kurdish Barzani tribe when approximately 8,000 killed have been buried in mass graves.

Saddam’s chemical lust was not quenched and a 1988 attack against Kurdish town of Halabja adds an estimated 5,000 civilians to his deadly list.

The infamous Anfal 'ethnic cleansing' campaign against Kurds in 1988 resulted in a massive displacement operation against the Kurdish population in northern Iraq. Hussein’s cousin, General Ali Hassan al-Majid named Chemical Ali, ordered to use chemical weapons against civilians during this disgusting operation. Hundreds of villages were depopulated and chemically burnt to the ground.

Remember Invasion of Kuwait in 1990? Kuwaitis are not fond of former leader of Iraq and their opinion was strongly formed during seven months of terror. These are charges against people only but what about Nature when Iraqi soldiers set light to more than 700 oil wells and opened pipelines to let oil pour into the Gulf and other water sources.

The 1991 resulted in the upraising of Shia Muslims in the south and Kurds in the north at close of Gulf War and took lives of more than 60,000 people.

The displacement of Marsh Arabs from homes in 1992 resulted in tens of thousands killed.

Maybe that’s enough for this time because the further reminiscences will turn Hussein’s advocates against their ‘beloved’ idol. And they so braggingly defend him in an attempt to prop Saddam up making him a messiah. Pardon the sarcasm but not long time ago the humanity did suffer during the times of concentration camps of Stalin and Hitler if not mention the life of nations being under these tyrants rule. So what is it, a time to forget?

At present times Saddam Hussein is held in a US-controlled prison in Baghdad and is waiting for the court that will set him on trial facing twelve main charges. Initially there have been more than five hundred charges against him.

This is the list of only some of the crimes that Hussein’s regime did that the world that has 100% evidence against and there are more. This is even somewhat slow than enough for spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to say the government was confident that dictator would be put on trial within the next two months. It is surprising that this demon-dictator is still is not sentenced.

Putting Hussein of trial before coming election in the fall will show that the government works without him, that president works without him, that Iraqi people choose life without a puppeteer.

Iraq is living hard through times and there is a possibility of building free democratic society in the Middle East with Iraqi Dinar as one of the strongest currencies in the region and maybe in the world. So it would be wise of insurgents to stop their pointless defiance and help in building new Iraq rather than its further destruction. As for Hussein even serving the softest sentence of life imprisonment he will be shown that this country chooses life in freedom before life in his fake gold cage.
