Title: Iraq's New Leader To Rule The Roust
January 31 2005 was a very special day for many Iraqi's as well as soldier's in Iraq who have family's around the world. Millions voted and 14 died while voting. What a way to go. Then you got those suicide bombers. They claim that by blowing themselves up that they go to heaven. Blow yourself up, and you go to heaven. I think they go in all four directions!
December 2005 marked the month of another very important event in Iraq, Parliamentary elections. In January the people voted for democracy, now they voted with more detail to pick parties for seats in the Government House so to speak. Suicide bombers were still duck taping their shoes to the gas pedals in cars with belts of TNT ready to go. On one particular occasion, the only thing remaining of a bomber was his foot in his shoe taped to the pedal.
Over 10 million Iraqi's voted in December and 20,000 U.S. troops came home after the elections. Is Bush getting the job done? Has Iraq investment sales gone up? I'd like to double up on one big “You betcha!”. A large portion of Iraq’s Sunni people came out to vote this time around. Most of them boycott the first round of elections. Reports were in that the streets of Iraq were much safer for the evening walk home after voting on vote day too.
The 3rd and final round of elections are about June 2006. President of Iraq, or is it going to be a Prime Minister. Does it really matter? Just put somebody in that hot seat already with a good solid bullet proof vest.
Will the new head honcho of Iraq rule with Saddam’s iron fist? Well, as long as he plays the game with U.S. Government properly we will see. Just over a year ago a team of pro-Iraq Government fighters pulled over a car with one of Saddam’s former right hand men. And gunned the man down in front of his 13 year old son on the side of the highway.
