Media To Be Taken With A Grain Of Salt

Iraq! The resolve and patience that your nation reveals is a vivid example to some impatient and feeble-willed individuals who despite the progress in this country claim that everything is and will remain. The Media. Oh yeah, the same theory may be applied to the journalists who catch the news from Iraq and make them breaking stories by adding some spicy and phrases that the world is craving again and again?

What about the people who know, and strongly believe Iraq will be a stable economically again? Millions of peaceful neighbors who voted in Iraq, willing to integrate economically with democratic leadership. Rich in natural resources that are so highly demanded in the modern world. The negative group also has their ponderable share. Negativity always exists especially in Iraq where it is impossible to avoid the harsh reality of post war.

Can there be any important news that mass media skips? If you think no then take a look at the problems of your country or neighborhood. Is everything ok? No! Is everything that needs to be corrected or solved given proper attention? I doubt! Why do some people think that the Media information about Iraq is adequate and transparent?

Some may start thinking that mass media are trying to hide information, do the media bosses regulate this? Well, that depends on whose side they support. What makes more money in the news? Truth, or fear? Are media bosses after truth? Or the millions of dollars that a fearful story can produce over a few months, or years. Can omitting some information be called lies? The clue is that in fact mass media acts like businessmen selling their products to those who are willing to buy. Buyers (viewers, readers) like you and I want some type of sensation when hearing about Iraq, right? Who's fault is it for inadequacy of the information published or broadcasted?

Take a look at the information that is given to us. The negative information seems to outweighs the positive like Mike Tyson against a skinny Osama Bin Laudin in a boxing ring. Negative events like annoying street bombings of peaceful civilians by the blindly violent so- called insurgents. Do these people who create the demand for sensation and therefore forcing mass media to skip some "uninteresting" news take seriously the election of the Iraqi president and the government? The news seems to ignore the implementation of the new Iraqi currency though it is weak at the moment in comparison to other world currencies but it has no Saddam on it therefore eliminating this so called impostor's cult from banknotes that people see and use everyday.

As mentioned earlier, Iraq is one of the richest countries in the world in natural gas and oil. Mass media must press the world community to lift all sanctions off Iraq to let this country sell oil and gas and therefore raise funds to invest the lion's share of the income in the development of Iraqi industry and infrastructure. But they don't, and we don't live in a perfect world. Does UN speak about this? Whether UN does or deos not, Media controls the minds of 80% of modern society and most don't realize it. Want Proof? If you disagree, tell me where you got your information. Either the TV, or you don't remember (the TV!) Don't let your mind indulge off the endless insurgency of the Iraq war. If UN is trying to say something then news media should relay it into people if the news is beneficial to mankind.

I happened to meet one American from Iraq in our Forum. This man served in Iraq and told me the facts that I never seen or heard of in the news media sources. He told that people in Iraq highly welcomed Hussein's dethronement and were actually glad having met coalition forces in Iraq but news say very little about this. Instead, the media put on a label of "uninteresting news". The media would lead you to believe that Iraq will be conquered and colonized as if were living in the ancient or medieval. Foreign troops will go from Iraq one day and the problems in establishment of peace in Iraq and be assured, the media will ignore the goodness and switch news to Iran or someother country when the Dinar prevails. Almost totally forgetting about Iraq.
